Some text is still being clipped in the "Last Changes" area, though - see the screenshot at http://www.avtechpulse.com/opensource/tiki-theme.png for an example using my font settings (20 pt override). One other question: why is there so much wasted space on the left and right sides? Why not use the full screen width? - Mike |

i updated the native theme yesterday. it should look better now when overriding font-size. as to the percent question: i try and set the overall font-size in body{} and then only use em, which is something like % (msie and other browsers support this). some themes also use em for the width of columns so in theory the column width should increase with font-size (not sure how good browsers are with this, but opera certainly does a cracking job). for instance, when setting the min font size, the dropdowns should increase in width as well to fit the larger text. as for the 20pt, when i set the minimum font-size to 20pt, i get a font that allows me to read about 3 lines of text. perhaps i did something wrong or you have a very high dpi ratio but on my screen it's really hard to read the text due to the sheer size of the text. anyway, i hope the css is now better and handles your custom font-size setting more gracefully. xing On Tue, 26 Apr 2005 00:42:09 +0200, Stephan Borg <wol...@ya...> wrote: > I have also experienced this problem. > > I don't know much about CSS, but how well do browsers react when you set > the standard font size in the CSS, and then use % sizes for the rest of > the fonts? I have also experienced this problem. I don't know much about CSS, but how well do browsers react when you set the standard font size in the CSS, and then use % sizes for the rest of the fonts? Does this cause browser incompatibilities? Stephan On Mon, 2005-04-25 at 10:07 -0400, Dr. Michael J. Hi all, I use Firefox as my browser, with the minimum font size set pretty high - I hate squinting at web sites (Tools > Options > General > Fonts & Colors > Minimum Font Size = 20 pt). The theme used on www.tikipro.org (and clyde.tikipro.org) does not react nicely to this - the pages come out jumbled, and some text gets clipped. It doesn't look nice. My Bonnie install (with the c0rpr8 theme) doesn't have this problem. It "places nicely" when font sizes are overridden by the browser. It would be nice if the themes could handle minimum font size overrides more gracefully. - Mike |

hey, I am sorry, big misunderstanding. I was talking about Bonnie (with the=20 log in bug) not Clyde and I was asking if Clyde is ready soon, since I=20 am still using Bonnie. i have looked into the rendering bug and i'm not sure why it occurs. when i install the theme locally, everything looks fine. perhaps we just need to reinstall the theme. xing On Sun, 17 Apr 2005 19:51:16 +0200, starrrider <sta...@sb...> wrote: > I am not familiar enough with phpbb to know if this is possible or not - > but it seems to me that a subscription based mailing list might be a > good idea here. > Getting notified when new threads are started would be a vast > improvement over having to check a dozen Forums every so often to see > what's new. morning all. anyone done any testing to see if there are any "quirks" in using PostgreSQL 8 as opposed to 7.4.x and TikiPro?? Do we have to do anything different if using the newer version ? by that i mean is/are there any new PostgreSQL system-wide differences that will affect the schema of TikiPro ? i'll have a better read of the enhancements and differences between the two today as i have a a couple of hours free. Tonight i'll attempt a fresh deployment of Clyde on PostgreSQL 8 and post any peculiarities. cheers peter Peter Moore Lead Technical Specialist Operating Platform Services - Internet, Intranet & Infrastructure National Australia Bank ps sorry for the large disclaimer This email is sent by or on behalf of the named sender identified above. I am not familiar enough with phpbb to know if this is possible or not - but it seems to me that a subscription based mailing list might be a good idea here. Getting notified when new threads are started would be a vast improvement over having to check a dozen Forums every so often to see what's new. It would also give us a much better response time Along the same lines - email notification when a post is made to a thread that we created (or are interested in) would really be helpful. I've seen this used on several Forum sites and it is really beneficial to people who are active on a large number of forums, threads, and posts. s-r aka Lee PS - anybody else noticed the problem with the display of the right column in the phpbb forums. Hello, Did anybody think about integrating Creative Commons into Tikipro? If not I will probably write a plugin. First I would only implement it for the image and file galleries, later for blogs...too. I dont think it will be hard to implement, but if I get some tips on how to do it it would probably make the addon better. Here i a link to the parameters: http://creativecommons.org/license/?format=image A tutorial on how to intergrate it: http://creativecommons.org/technology/web-integration I dont think other CMS system have CC integration yet. It can potentially bring much traffic on sites, since many people are using the creative commons image and audio search and it is getting more popular lately. Even Yahoo integrated a CC search last week. However, CC is also coming to the Schmiede, and we can maybe work on an implementation there, althought i dont think I will have time. Hi, This is a report on my progress with the tra posrfilter. Executive summary I'm a moron. Technical description I have been working ona postfilter that replaces the tra function that replaces the tra function with it's translated translated string. The function works fine, but the the method of applying a postfilter on a compiled templated does not work, since the compiled template does not contain any tra functions except in special cases. As some of you might have noticed I asked which files or which steps should be taken to get the tra function into the compiled templates. The answer is of cource that the tra functions stays inside the .php files. There is currently only one way to get tra function into the template files and that is to put the code inside {php} {/php} tags inside the smarty template (and in that case the postfilter works as intended} There is another smarty function that includes php into templates, include_php, that also include php into the template. This function does however inject php that in turn includes the specified files, so a postfilter does not have any possibility to replace the tra function. There are now three possibilities. 1. Abandon the postfilter methodology alltogether and instead use the database for translation lookup, or optionally generate a separeate $lang string for each package that only contains the tra strings (questinable if the latter gives better performance than the former. 2. Move some of the code into the templates inside {php} tags. The downside of this is that it is quite a lot of work. 3. Make a new a new smarty functions that physicalli includes the php code inside into the template so that the tra postfilter can make the nessecary replacements. I must investigate this last possbility more, so that this method is actually possible. This also probably means that some php files must be split up. My guess is that option 2 and 3 will give better performance, but also a (lot of) more work. Any feedback on which path should be pursued would be greatly appreciated. Best regards, Jan |

But its implementation is package-specific and right now only fisheye has code to use it. I really think we need to consider more carefull review of its functionality and change it to work with arbitrary content types as an extension of liberty in the way quota package works. Additionally the design of gatekeeper needs to be reviewed further. What has been implemented is not really group-specific but instead content-specific, that means that while you can "hide" the content, it would be hidden from every user where as situation Peter is describing require it to be more group or user specific. --- William Leibzon mailto: wi...@co... Before i go into depth: I'm on the Bonnie release, so this may hvae already been addressed by Clyde. We have a number of Wiki pages which have group permissions assigned to them meaning that you have to be a member of a particular group in order to read them. We also have a lot of pages that the anonymous user can read also. Using the Search function as the anonymous user results in a search result containing pages that the anonymous user does not have access to. This includes part of the text of that page and in one case, there is sensitive information being displayed. Has this been discussed before? Is it fixed in Clyde? If not, we may want to review our modules to cater for this. Thoughts welcomed and as usual sorry for the large disclaimer. peter Peter Moore Lead Technical Specialist Operating Platform Services - Internet, Intranet & Infrastructure National Australia Bank This email is sent by or on behalf of the named sender identified above. I really like this idea too. Could this possibly make our 'Print' button obsolete? I've also noticed under IE (I think) that gray writing is really useless, when printing - and I would think this will solve such a problem. Stephan Find local movie times and trailers on Yahoo! i have thought about this and it's probably very easy to add some stuff like increasing font-size or increasing contrast css files by having css files that look like this: __________________________ <style>.css contains all definitions for the theme including: body { font-size: 10px; color: gray; } __________________________ <style>_large_font.css @import url('../<style>.css'); body { font-size: 16px; } __________________________ <style>_high_contrast.css @import url('../<style>.css'); body { color: black; background: white; } __________________________ if the original <style>.css only uses relative sizes such as 'em' or '%' the entire site will increase it's font-size. when <style>_large_font.css is selected. when <style>_high_contrast.css is selected it will render a dark text on a light background increasing contrast and thus readability. this method is easy and quick. /themes/styles/<style>/alternative/ could hold these alternative css files. any css file found in here could be added to the css file list, using the file name as css file title (this is the name that appears in firefox when you open the css file list). does this sound like a reasonable solution? __________________________ in addition i'd like to allow for different media css files. for example adding a <style>_print.css file and limiting that to media="print" it would be easy to remove unwanted elements when printing. <style>_print.css could include definitions like: #tikileft { display: none; } #tikiright { display: none; } #tikitop { display: none; } #tikimain { width: 100%; } this would remove the top, left and right column and expand the center column to the full width when you hit the print button. this method is transparent to the user, allows for easy customisation and allows you to customise the print page, without making the main css file more complicated than it has to be. __________________________ with regard to the documentation of the css stuff, i have put up some css docs on tp.o and there is a theme called blank in your /themes/styles/ dir. this theme contains quite a bit of documentation and various tips and tricks to create a new theme. i'm in the process of updating this documentation since there are some things that have changed a bit since i wrote that. css is a large topic and the css of tp has changed dramatically since tw. not just the size of the files, but also the simplicity and flexibility (at least i think so). __________________________ one feature that hasn't been mentioned at all is that we have dynamic css file import depending on client browser. all you need to do is create css files named like this: <style>_ie.css --> M$ internet explorer <style>_op.css --> opera for more information view the file util/phpsniff/phpSniff.class.php xing On Mon, 07 Mar 2005 18:09:50 -0500, Greg Martin <gm...@gm...> wrote: > Stephan Borg wrote: > >> Hi all, >> >> Noticed a feature on Firefox today - alternate style sheets. >> >> An icon appears in the bottom left corner which allows you to switch >> style sheets.
