HTML Tidy should have option to generate inline styles (style= attribute for tags) instead of <style> block. This feature should have new configuration option too to enable it (by default HT should generate <style> blocks).

I want to use HT to convert some HTML Transitional received from an external source to XHTML Strict. Currently I have to extract content of generated <body> and <style> sections separately and store them in two fields in database. This new feature used together with show-body-only option would simplify my task greatly.

Thanks for the feature request... now so long ago... sorry for the delay...

Tidy source has moved on to https://github.com/htacg/tidy-html5, site to http://www.html-tidy.org/

As recently replied on FR #346 this is sort contra the aim of using CSS style...

However, if you want to persue this, or find another tidy bug, or feature request, then please file an issue, together with sample html and config used, and if you find, fix, and test the feature in a tidy fork then you can issue a Pull Request. Always appreciated... thanks...

    Tidy needs your support...

Meantime closing this here as out-of-date...
