Please check out the mouse support which is in the current CVS.
I think it kind of rocks. Although it can be a bit erratic at times.
Setup;
mouse move - rotate viewpoint (like quake)
mouse move with middle button presse - rotate the cannon
left mouse clicn - fire cannon
Let me know what you think about it.

Current CVS includes support for mouse in menus. Please check it out - I suspect there may be subtle bugs in there. I wanted to do a release, but there is problems with the file upload at sourceforge currently. So, the current cvs is tagged version_0_3_3_0 Mads P.S. Just because a program takes text commands makes it complex? I love GUI's. I
love using the web. I love WYSIWYG word processors. But I also love CLIs. It
feels more natural to me, as if I'm talking with the computer (granted, the
language isn't english, it's bash, and the vocabulary happens to be whatever's
is my PATH)--I tell it what to do and it does it for me (unlike GUI's where I
have to do everything my own damn self).

Grunden til at jeg (midlertidigt) har sat priserne ned var for at kunne demonstrere vores lækre våben - det holder jo ikke helt at sige "se her!" og så skal man gennem 4-5 runder for at få noget sjov ud af det ;-) Måske skulle vi overveje en indkøbsrunde før man går igang... lige som man har i SE... Noget med at man starter med X penge (kan sættes som option) og man kan så vælge at købe eller få renter. Og så forresten: mig og Toby (undskyld... Tobias og jeg ;-) er gået igang med at kigge lidt på kampvognsmodellering. Toby har en del erfaring med 3D Studio Max, så det var ikke det vilde problem for ham/os at få leget lidt med Blender (du kender http://www.blender.nl/ ?). Resultatet af en times tutorial-gennemgang og en times legeri kan ses på vedlagte billede. Blender kan gemme i VRML format og jeg har lavet et (meget primitivt) lille program, der sådan nogenlunde læser en VRML fil ind og genererer punkter og trekanter ud fra data'ene. Desværre gemmer Blender ikke trekanternes hjørnepunkter i den rigtige rækkefølge (hint: højrehåndsdrejning, overfladenormaler, lysmodel, forside/bagside af trekanter), så jeg skal lige have lavet noget "byt om på to punkter hvis det er nødvendigt" kode. For konvekse modeller er det ikke noget stort problem at lave, og eftersom jeg alligevel har planer om at en kampvogn består af tre under-objekter (chassis, tårn og løb) går det nok meget godt alt samSegmentation fault... core dumped ;-) Forøvrigt har jeg på nuværende tidspunkt kode til at lave collision detection mellem objekter bestående af trekanter. BEMÆRK: Det er _ikke_ den version du har. Alle de patches du har sendt
mig, pånær det sidste monster patch er applied, men jeg havde glemt at jeg
havde "ryddet lidt op i koden", og endnu ikke sendt dig en version.
Det er præcist den slags cvs skal løse for os, så jeg håber du vil være i
stand til at få dit patch til at passe alligevel.

Mht. parametre for kortet, så forestiller jeg mig at det skal varierer fra runde til runde, inden for nogen grænser, som brugeren vælger. Skjalm, I hope you receive this twice, confirming that the list works. Here is a schedule suggestion for a first release of thx. Each number marks a "mini milestone" and is marked with the "focus" of that version. Current version is 0.2.5 as you know. The aim is to make a first public release with version 0.3.0 in a 2-3 week timeframe. At that point the game should be "playable", although it will lack nice graphics and more advanced rendering. This is suggestions only, for you to comment. ** 0.2.6 (Player/Game issues) - Correct change between players and end game - menu options should have effect ossible - player names - fix player placement on start better - multiple projectile system - multiple rounds - economics model - buy projectiles between rounds ** 0.2.7 (Display issues) - make multiple views available, switching between them - update in game HUD (use font texture rendering) - make trace game option in menu ** 0.2.8 (Sound issues) - enable basic sound support - menu sounds - fire sounds - impact sounds ** 0.2.9 (Clean up) - move data to consistent structure - fix remaining showstopper bugs - Write some documentation - play test ** 0.3.0 (Beta/Sourceforge) - rename project to thx. - make GPL aware As you can see, I do not have the map loading code in there. If you want to include it before version 0.3.0 we will probably have to talk about it, and how to do it. There seems to be little reason to _load_ a map, if you are generating them randomly, we may as well include the map generating code and use that. Let me know what you think.
