Ubuntu has degraded support for notifications containing actions, starting with the "Jaunty" release (9.04). This affects the backup notification that Thumbak posts for USB drives which are not currently being managed, replacing the notification with a dialog box which is more intrusive, and less intuitive.

The original notification behavior remains in Debian, Fedora, and Red Hat distributions. Action behavior can be restored to Ubuntu by replacing the notify-OSD package with notification-daemon.

Thumbak automates backup for USB drives. It runs on Gnome, and manages background incremental backups for selected USB disks and thumb drives.

This is the initial public release of Thumbak.
