I'm able to type a symbol into ToS and have it appear in Takion, but I'm not able to type a symbol into Takion and have it appear in ToS. The connection is only working one way. Is there anyway to fix this?

Почему к сожалению нет? Может быть вам нужна библиотека для линковки LinkTakionSource?
