Yes, the configure script does not scan for doxygen at the moment... it
also needs to scan for some other things like pthreads, I think...

I don't suppost the configure could identify if doxygen is availabla, and
allow for a
doc: dependency that could be produced with the "make all", "make doc" or
"make" (depending upon your preferences).
Don't have access to my development box at the moment so I can't look at
what's currently in the setup.
