I don't know what happened, this thread just disappeared from my gmail
account. Anyway, as to what Mike said:

Not really as everybody will have access everyones USB stick - unless
each client have a unique samba password, which is a huge effort to
manage. Thats why Rob wants users for his smbpasswd. Which is
perfectly doable with a modified build script.
as I said, only a group of users have the icon that starts a script
that maps the usb share. Our users are not allowed to run but
whitelisted executables, so if you are not a member of the group that
may run that one, no share for you. I should have said that as well.
The users may not alter the script or rename it or copy it to another
Besides, they should have to know what ip adress the thinstation with
the stick is using which is not so easy for one of our users in a
citrix/rdp environment. And the usb stick should be inserted at that
moment. Quite a few requirements.
Finding the ip address from a citrix/rdp session requires using the
terminal services api, here you see how to do it:
you could also use one of the ctrl-alt-del utils (site is now not
available, maybe later it will be
http://www.ctrl-alt-del.com.au/CAD_TSUtils.htm), one of them does that
but you need to parse its output to use it in a script, they give more
than just the ip address, unfortunately).
