Hi All, Heres what I'm thinking for the storage of user defined configs /etc/thinstation.conf is the default thinstation.conf, which comes from the initial build, it is symlinked to /tmp/etc/thinstation.conf as it needs to be writable. thinstation.conf.user is in stored in /root (symlinked to /tmp/profile - see note below about this). This file only stores the modified settings from replimenu. Upon bootup, this file is appended to /etc/thinstation.conf. This means the thinstation.conf.user will override settings from thinstation.conf The issue that Lars brought up about writing to the permanent storage device every 5 minutes. This is needed for things like dillo bookmarks, ICA Manager settings. Mounting /root directly to the permanent storage device would fix this. ie /root is symlinked to /mnt/floppy/folder So, we could bypass copying the files every 5 minutes. Anyone see any problems with this? Cheers Miles |
