#22 hidden/nested categories

There was already a suggestion to make categories "hidden". I would extend this idea in such a way:
Categories get a level property. Classic blog categories would be in level 1, subcategories would be in level 1-1, 1-2, 2-1, 3-1 a.s.o. Another option in the program controls which categories are visibile in the menu. So, hidden categories can be of level 1-1-1 when the option says "render menu until level 2"

Why would I need it:
1.)
to design a website with a complex menu that is created from all needed categories. In between, I could avoid writing a static menu where I add a subcategory with every change.

2.)
to split messages into intro and details (like in a forum). A general link is on level 1, the intro ("abstracts") could stay on level 2 and the full text messages at level 3 are reached from a "Read more" link. Is there already something possible like this now?
