#17 Links in Block don't seem to function correctly with ""

No

When putting links into the blocks, if I use parenthesis in the link, the link will not function correctly. If the parenthesis are taken out, it does function.

The link

<A HREF=\"http://www.webdeveloper.com/\">Check out my favorite site</A>

when used, shows up as:

http://www.norske.org/"http://www.webdeveloper.com//"

If I take the "" out, the link functions correctly.

<A HREF=http://www.webdeveloper.com/>Check out my favorite site</A>

I was under the impression that the "" should be part of the code. I browsed through the html on my web page and it functions correctly that way.

Also, when I copied a link into a block, it seems to add extra \ into the mix. The first link is what I copied in. The second is what I found when I went back in to edit the block again.

<A HREF="http://www.webdeveloper.com/">Check out my favorite site</A>

<A HREF=\"http://www.webdeveloper.com/\">Check out my favorite site</A>

If I take the the "" out of the code, save it, and go back and check the link in the box, the \ is not added.

Hopefully this isn't some stupid error on my part.

I just noticed that the first link in my example contains the \ as part of the link. When I origally added the link in the box, it did not contain that, and was added on its own as described later on in my comments.

I think I can see what's wrong. The block text just needs to be run through FixQuotes() before it hits the database.

    Fixed in CVS.
    Added:
    $title = stripslashes(FixQuotes($title))
    $content = stripslashes(FixQuotes($content));

    to makeblock and changeblock
