Hmmm, I would not like an attachment feature for PM's - blow's up the forum because of users start pming attachments around. Better: users should ask the person to whom they want to send an attachment for a real email address! Who knows what kind of crap would be PMed without being noticed by the forum admin!

Agreed. While it might be practical to share files privately with an individual user, if it is consuming disk space (and has the potential to consume a lot of disk space), the forum community (all the users) as a whole should benefit from it.
As a side note, to make everyone happy, the PM attachments could expire (be deleted) after 30 days or something. How does that sound?
