Hmm, right now multiple pdf windows don't work in a sensible way (as far as i have seen it), thus i don't see the necessity to include more options except for complicating things. I would rather suggest to remove txs://view-pdf as it is redundant to txs:/view and txs:/view-pdf-internal etc. On 07.06.2012 16:07, Benito van der Zander wrote: >> (the txs button always opens the internal viewer if none is present) > Even if one is present. > > I don't think the embedded internal viewer should close all existing > viewer windows. > > It doesn't take much effort to press escape, if you want to close it. > And you can open multiple viewer windows, then you don't expect them to > be closed. > > In fact you may either want to reuse an existing internal viewer > (embedded or not) (e.g. if you have detached the viewer and want to > continue using ) or open a new viewer. > > So I think there should be four different internal pdf commands. > Two which open a new viewer embeddement/window, if none of that kind > exist, and two which reuse the internal viewer no matter which kind it has. > > We can call them: > > txs:///view-pdf-internal-windowed > txs:///view-pdf-internal-embedded > txs:///view-pdf-internal-windowed-or-existing > txs:///view-pdf-internal-embedded-or-existing > > Or: > > > txs:///view-pdf-internal-windowed > txs:///view-pdf-internal-embedded > txs:///view-pdf-internal-reuse-or-windowed > txs:///view-pdf-internal-reuse-or-embedded > > Or: > > > txs:///view-pdf-internal-windowed > txs:///view-pdf-internal-embedded > txs:///view-pdf-internal-existing-or-windowed > txs:///view-pdf-internal-existing-or-embedded > > > Benito > > > On 06/07/12 14:43, Jan Sundermeyer wrote: >>> switch back ... >> he can just close the external viewer and open then internal again. >> (the txs button always opens the internal viewer if none is present) >> >> >> On 07.06.2012 14:35, Denis Bitouzé wrote: >>> Le jeudi 07/06/12 à 14h14, >>> Jan Sundermeyer<sun...@gm...> a écrit : >>> >>>> Hi Denis, >>> Hi Jan, >>> >>>> why would anyone want to do that ? >>> Good question! ;) >>> >>>> My assumtion is that you primarily use the embedded viewer and call >>>> the extra window if you want see more information (overview, grid view >>>> etc.). >>> IMO, these extra informations should be available in the the embedded >>> viewer and I thought this was planned... >>> >>>> When do you want to have a pdf window and then embed into the >>>> editor ? >>> ... if not, maybe I wrong. >>> >>> But one can imagine a user starting to read the resulting PDF in the >>> embedded viewer.
