It would be nice when texstudio has a function in the settings to clean up the auxiliary files by closing texstudio. When texstudio is closing, the tool "clean auxiliary files" would be automatically activate.
Kile has a similar feature: When closing a tex file, it is looking for the temporary files according to file termination .loc .aux etc. and deletes the files.
Advantage: your folders are automatically clean when you leave the editor/ stop working on a file.
Only when you start working on a file, you need to once recompile everything.

And that can be very long (beamer presentations, theses with
bibliography, index and glossary, etc.). Hence, if provided, I suggest
for this option to not be activated by default.

I also like the option in Texmaker to automatically start the cleanup (for the current tex file) when the file is closed. The cleanup dialog under tools and the functionality should already be there.
So it would be nice to have an option to automatically run cleanup on the current file when TexStudio or the files is closed.

Need not be automatical cleanup, I would favor a button, e.g., next to the save or stop compliation button, which lets me apply this functionality more easily (I always search idefix and tools, because I always forget, which utitlity is where...).

Yes, it's a feature I found very nice in Texmaker. I would be glad to have it.
This would be a great feature.
This would be a great feature, I'm looking for this a long time in the settings.

You can make a custom button for any menu item at
Options -> Toolbars
