Problem : When doing a search one often has to press esc either once or twice. We end up closing the preview accidentally and losing the zoom level.
Preferred solution : assign another key than Esc (by default) for closing the preview window.

no intention to do this.
implemented feature: embedded viewer can be excluded from being closed by Esc (
Options -> Shortcuts -> Close Element -> Close Embedded Viewer)hg 6747 (0de10b9f400f)
Hi Tim, I don't know if this is intended or not but, with "Close Embedded Viewer" unchecked, I can still close the embedded viewer with Esc when it is the active pane. Ideally, Esc should never close that window with Esc when the box is unchecked (one can always close it by clicking on the X button in the preview pane, for instance).
Fixed.
