I have been trying to configure the Inverse and Direct Search to work on
Ubuntu, but I haven't been able to.
I´m using Kile as a pdf viewer and the instructions as posted here
linux.php?lang=en#TeXMaker, but I got no results. Is there something am I
missing? or what is the correct way to make it work?

kile is not a pdf viewer (it is a latex text editor like tmx).
You should take okular like suggested in your referenced document
You are right I mistyped, I meant i tried with Okular as the pdf viewer
