    Hi!

Today I have started to use TexMakerX and I really like it. But there is a
problem with the hints and tooltips. I cannot read them because the white text
is not visible on the yellow background. I hope you can see the problem on the
attached screenshot. I have not change any configuration settings so far. If
you need any additional information how to solve the problem, I will be glad
    to provide it.

I am using TexMakerX 2.0 on Ubuntu 10.10.

    Thanks!

    Daniel

    works fine here.
what are your settings for "style","color scheme","use system icons" and
    "ignore most system colors" ?

    Thanks for your help!

I have uploaded a screenshot with my general settings. Maybe you can identify
    the problem.

if you let the mouse cursor hover over a icon or the close button for an
editor, can you read the tooltip then ?

It is the same yellowish background of the tooltip making it impossible to
    read anything.

okay, if you use another program like gedit (text editor from utilities)
How appear the tooltips there ? (e.g. on tab close)

In gedit it is white text on black ground.

can you try out what happens if you

    1) turn off "ignore most system colors"
    2) use a differnt color scheme (classic)
    3) use a different style

I changed the style from Plastique to default. Now everything works perfectly
even when I switch back to Plastique. Seems strange, but now it works. The
only thing I need now are some documents to work with my new editor.

    Thanks for your help jsundermeyer!

    Daniel
