Hi, texstudio 2.3 (the version in the apt repositories as of today) crashes on Ubuntu 12.04 whenever I press F1 to start a quick build.

To reproduce it's enough to create a new document, type a minimal latex file and hit F1.

Default settings and texlive 2012 installed. I was evaluating switching from texmaker but obviously won't as long as this is not fixed.

I did not check if I can make it crash in other ways but if you need me to try something else or send log files etc. ask away. Strangely enough when I start Texstudio it opens a bunch of random files and then shows what seems to be the results of some internal tests, maybe this is a debug build or something?

Cheers,

Since 2.3 much has happened. You can try out the precompiled xUbuntu package from our website, which an up-to-date 2.5.2 version.

That sounds very much like a debug build. You should contact the package maintainer on this.
