I'm facing a problem with TeXstudio 2.5 (SVN 3400M). Everytime I write a character with an accent (I'm a portuguese speaker, so we write a lot) the caracters are misrendered and if I save the file the caracters are replaced in the file. For example, if I write the word "Título", it is rendered as "Título", or "páginas" as "pginas". I'm using the package inputenc with latin1 option. It started to happen when I updated to SVN 3400M.

From which version did you update? Im not aware that there were any recent changes to this. So the cause may be something else but not the change of TXS version.

Is the physical encoding of the file (edit -> setup encoding) also set to latin1?

The physical encoding is also latin1.
I'm not sure from which version I updated, but the last version I was using was the one with the custom template bug (bug described in the link).

The custom template bug was introduced with the template meta data in rev. 3324. I don't see any changes in handling the encoding between there and 3400. Furthermore, I installed portugese keyboard layout here but it works as it should (giving e.g. "Título"). Could you provide an example file?

It used to happen more often when I just started windows, but I reinstalled it (SVN 3400M) for the 2nd time and in the last 2 days it's no longer happening. I hope it is solved now.

    Thanks!
