System : Windows 8 x64.

I was using TeXstudio 2.3 a lot on windows, as synctex was very functional: right click on the pdf "go to source" worked, and "view PDF" from the source brought me to the good PDF area.

I recently upgraded to TeXstudio 2.4, and now neither of these options work. I really miss this feature =(.

Thanks in advance, and thanks for your work on TeXstudio.

    Okay, I feel stupid now: i've uninstalled 2.4 to reinstall 2.3, and these options don't work anymore either.

    So, I guess that the problem comes from my system or from MikTeX...

    Second update: in fact the problem only appears with a document based on the beamer class. The problem appears with both 2.3 and 2.4 versions.

    With a standard article class document, synctex works perfectly with both 2.3 and 2.4 versions.

    However, i'm certain that texstudio+synctex did work with beamer documents at some point...

    I keep investigating.

    In a test here synctex also works on beamer documents. Could you please post a minimal example which is not working in your case?

    At last, I may have found the trouble using this very simple minimal example :

    \documentclass[english]{article}

    \usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}
    \usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
    \usepackage{babel}
    \usepackage{lmodern}

    \begin{document}

    \section{One section}
    Some text.

    \section{Another section}
    Some other text.

    \end{document}

    If I put the example here: D:\tmp\testeeeee\main.tex
    It works with synctex.

    If I put the example there: D:\tmp\testééèèè\main.tex
    Then synctex doesn't work anymore

    So it seems that SyncTeX doesn't work with 'é' or 'è' letters in the path ?

    This problem seems to be known, since in the TeXworks manual (https://texworks.googlecode.com/files/TeXworks-manual-r1028.pdf) you can find this under the SyncTeX section:

    "Here a remark for users under Windows: this only works if all the names for folders/files/…do not have accented characters. If, for example, your document is in C:\Documents and Settings\Propriétaire\My Documents\thesis it will not work because of the é in Propriétaire! "

    I'll try to ask SyncTeX developpers about this issue...

    please report when you got an answer from the synctex team. Thanks.

    Update: I've exchanged some emails with the synctex developer, and he seemed surprised with my problem. However, as I was using Miktex and he was using Texlive, I uninstalled Miktex and installed Texlive as well. And, indeed, the problem was solved !

    I explained the problem on the Miktex mailing list, but I don't have any answer yet. I guess that there is something wrong with their binaries.

    Short version: replace Miktex with TexLive for Windows, and SyncTex should work perfectly fine with accented characters in the path ! :)
