#2445 Incorrect formatting of references in bibliography

I'm using TeXstudio on a an IMac. I am getting strange behaviour for some references in my bibliography, where the names are not formatted correctly. I also have problems where an escaped & is not being printed, and is producing an error in the compilation log.
