If I create a table with some columns in math mode, I get warning-tooltips for the maths commands ("math command outside math env").

Example:

\begin{tabular}{>{$}l<{$}} % a table with one column in math mode
\sqrt 2 % give a warning tooltip
\end{tabular}

    I am not going to extend the parser to handle that kind of code. be reasonable.

    I opt for wont-fix. In general, one can completely change the semantics of cells using the context. Detecting and interpreting this would make the code significantly more complex and still could only test some specific cases.

    If you want to use such constructs, I suggest to simply deactivate syntax checking in the options.
