#1724 TeXStudio crashes when viewing a .pdf

When viewing the attached .pdf file, TeXstudio crashes. The same .pdf works fine in Adobe Reader. The crash also happens occasionally (but not always) when viewing a .pdf that contains the attached .pdf (compiled via LaTeX with \includegraphics or similar).

The problematic .pdf has been exported from Mathematica 10.

System: Windows 7 SP 1

To replicate: Open TeXstudio 2.10.8. Select File/Open, browse to the attached .pdf and open it.
Result: TeXstudio closes without any error message, unsaved data is lost.

    This is a bug in the PDF library we use (poppler).

    Likely related [bugs:#1235]

    Update: Crash present on Windows (also with Texmaker which uses poppler as well).

    confirmed. app-office/texstudio-2.12.4 crashes with app-text/poppler-0.56.0 on gentoo Linux too after compiling a testdocument where this pdf is included.
    I think these are two different bugs.

    please retry with 2.12.8 it is fixed for me here.
