Please also check the searchpath for an installed TeX. Then TeX Live can be autodetected just as MikTeX.

    Dear siepo!

Can you give me a hint on how to detect TeX Live. I will implement it as soon as I have a reliable way of detecting it. Can you give me some hints?

    Ciao.Tino.

TeX Live adds itself to the search path. So it is just a matter of finding e.g. pdflatex.exe on the search path. If it matters that it is TeXLive and not another TeX implementation, then you can scan the output of 'pdflatex --version' for the occurrence of the term 'kpathsea'.

In TeX Live 2007, the dvi viewer dviout.exe is installed separately elsewhere, and is afaik not integrated properly, but all the other executables are in the same directory as [pdf][la]tex.
