LibreOffice already has its own equation editor, that is still actively maintained and improved.
I'm not a core LibreOffice developer and I don't have any influence on their developement strategy, so I clearly can't help you on this subject.
However, you can go to the LibreOffice Bugzilla and report your request as a bug. I think there is no feature request form, so this is the way it should be done.
