Hi! Wouldn't it be nice to be able to see a preview of the equation (and possibly edit it) before generating the svg?

Indeed, that would be nice. But I can't promise to implement it soon, because I think it will be a lot of work...

topic, sorry), have you ever thought about the possibility of making
texmaths native to LibreOffice rather than an extension?
I believe that would be an awesome feature too.

LibreOffice already has its own equation editor, that is still actively maintained and improved.
I'm not a core LibreOffice developer and I don't have any influence on their developement strategy, so I clearly can't help you on this subject.
However, you can go to the LibreOffice Bugzilla and report your request as a bug. I think there is no feature request form, so this is the way it should be done.
