Well, I've installed LO 6.2.4 and see the same problem. Extension adds else on equation to existing one with other fontsize. So, it's not a bug of LO.

OK, I was able to reproduce the bug. I found that the bug appeared since LibreOffice 6.0, it was not present in LO 5.x.
I'll investigate to quickly fix this issue.
      Thanks.

Investigating deeper, I found that the bug only appears when using the gtk3 LibreOffice backend (Linux only). This backend is really a nightmare, it's buggy and the LO team doesn't seem to be much concerned about fixing the bugs...

A workaround on Ubuntu is to remove the libreoffice-gtk3 package:
    sudo apt remove libreoffice-gtk3

Then the recompile equations macro should work as expected.

Sorry for the inconvenience, I'll fill a bug for LibreOffice but I don't expect a quick fix...

    Many thanks, it really helps.
Of course, the toolbar and other elements of LO becomes Windows'95-98-like (((
    In addition 2 observations.
    1) Installing libreoffice-gtk2 doesn't help.
    2) The issue does not appear in Impress.

    OK, thanks for the feedback.
In the meanwhile, I found a workaround that can be used in the code.
    Here is a test version:http://roland65.free.fr/TexMaths-0.48.1.oxt
Could you please reinstall the libreoffice-gtk3 package and test this version?
    Thanks.
