#22 more flexible temp file handling

I use a mini table of contents for every chapter thereby generating a lot of temporary files. Their extensions are .mtc .mtc0 .mtc1 ... .mtc13 in my case.
This needs 15 entries in the temp file extensions to handle them properly. One entry like .mtc* should suffice.
