Hi,
If there is a newline in the text of \textbf{text}, the highlight is not correct. The text is considered as not in \textbf{} (normal black).
It is also incorrect for \textbf{asdfasdfasdf \texttt{zxzcv} wwwwww}. The "wwwwww" is considered as if they are not in \textbf{}. \textbf is closed by the '}' of inner \textttt{}, it seems.

    The highlighting is also wrong for the following cases that I met
    - nested environment. For example, when i use the package vaucanson-g to draw automatas, there may be
    \begin{center}\SmallPicture\VCDraw{
    \begin{VCPicture}{(0,-5)(20,5)}
    The last \begin of VCPicture environment is not bold.

    - nested { }. Not only \textbf as the original bug report, but also many nested {} has the problem. For example when drawing an automata using vaucanson-g package,
    \LoopS[.5]{q_5}{\StackTwoLabels{b,X/XX}{b,Z_0/XZ_0}},
    the last } symbol is black. ( { } and content in it should be blue if it works correctly)

    - $\%$. That is a % symbol in the math $ $ environment. causes the whole line and all following lines becomes the color of math environment (red).

    AAA$\%$BBB
    CCC$1+1$DDD

    In this case $\%$BBB CCC$ $DDD are red, while 1+1 are normal.
