Hi there I want to use Bugzilla and Testopia to manage the testing and defect process for a large complex programme. It's not a pure IT programme so we'll be raising defects on construction (civil engineering), mechanical systems, electronic systems and IT systems. I'm responsible for Systems Integration testing which basically covers end to end process based testing across multiple areas of the facility, process and systems (IT, mechanical and electrical). The problem I have in my sandpit for bugzilla and testopia is that I seem to be limited to creating a test plan against a product, when what I'd really prefer to do is to create a test plan and test cases that span multiple, or all, products. I still need to be able to raise individual defects against products and components. I've seen discussion when googling this type of issue on additional levels of items in bugzilla e.g. a sub-component or a higher level product, so I guess this problem has been encountered a number of times. What I couldn't find was a simple explanation of how to work round this issue .... So, here's hoping someone has a "dummies guide" for me! :-) Thanks in advance. Kind Regards Dave Leonard |

Hi support, I need help to restore a single test run. There a lot of test cases in that test run so it's critical for us. I have the database backup but I don't know if I can restore only that test run. And the big question is How? I'm running Testopia 2.2 and Bugzilla 3.2.3 with MySQL on CentOS. I'm system admin so I have the root password. Jeremie Leveille |

Hello We are in the process of taking bugzilla 4.0.1 and Testopia live but are having problems in moving the test plans and test cases. Here's the config - We set up a VMWare system and installed Bugzilla 4.0 and Testopia on it and then configured it and set up testopia as well. - Next we set up a new production VMWare system and installed bugzilla 4.0.1 and Testopia and cannot import the test plans and test cases Questions - I can export the test plans and test cases as xml and have those files - The import function is now working for 4.0.1 when I tried it - What is the best way to import the data, or can we import the database is another question as well Thanks Bill Andrews SR. QA Engineer www.jupiter.com root@jupiter:/var/www/bugzilla# ./tr_importxml.pl /share/home/phil/testplans-2011-06-21.xml Can't locate object method "new" via package "Testopia::Importer" (perhaps you forgot to load "Testopia::Importer"?) at ./tr_importxml.pl line 123. root@jupiter:/var/www/bugzilla# |

Hi, I`ve been trying to export the test cases from testopia into Excel. I exported using .csv format and opened it in excel, but there are a lot of tags coming along with it for spaces , hyphens and other signs. Is there anyway , that this can be ignored and the sheet can be exported without all the tags ? Please reply as soon as possible, since we are using Testopia at our workplace and need to complete some work for the client soon. Testopia uses the same group controls on products as Bugzilla. When that user goes to log a bug in Bugzilla, do they see all the products there? To restrict access to see products, set up product groups in the administration panel in bugzilla and assign your users to the groups that can see the product. They will then only see those products in Testopia dashboard. ++Greg >>> On 9/24/2010 at 8:21 AM, in message <4C9...@se...>, Luca Guzzon <luc...@se...> wrote: > Hi, > here my problem: > > Scope > > I'm managing a company's Bugzilla repository with many > Classifications/Pruducts > Each Bugzilla Products have a group of users that can see (when the > start a new bug or search bugs) only the Bugs in these Products. > Now in my test environment (a copy of the actual Bugzilla > repository) I've installed Testopia and it works > > Problem > > In the test environment when a logged user starts the testopia > dashboard he see al the classifications\products > > Question > > It's possible (changing some parameter) to show only the products > where he is authorized to see/search bugs? > > Thanks in advance > > PS > I search all around the manuals and internet without success. |

Hi, here my problem: Scope I'm managing a company's Bugzilla repository with many Classifications/Pruducts Each Bugzilla Products have a group of users that can see (when the start a new bug or search bugs) only the Bugs in these Products. Now in my test environment (a copy of the actual Bugzilla repository) I've installed Testopia and it works Problem In the test environment when a logged user starts the testopia dashboard he see al the classifications\products Question It's possible (changing some parameter) to show only the products where he is authorized to see/search bugs? Thanks in advance PS I search all around the manuals and internet without success. -- * Luca Guzzon* *SEMPLA* Via G. Details at http://www.mozilla.org/projects/testopia/ As always, this is beta software. (hey, if Google can get away with it, why not us?) :P Feedback is welcome. Enjoy! Greg Hendricks |

Documentation for this is forthcoming. As for reports, 1.1 supports CSV export of report data that can be used to track changes over time in an external tool such as a spreadsheet. More reports are planned for future releases. Hope this helps. -- Greg Hendricks <ghe...@no...> |

Dear all, Are there some functions support test case import/export and test case result export function in Testopia? They are very helpful to statistics analysis. Now I have installed the Testopia 1.11 with Bugzilla 2.22.1 in windows. Although there are some bugs still, it runs. When I create a new run then execute it, the final result report is not powerful . The Quality Assurance or Quality Manager wants the run result report as the analysis data. So the export function will be very welcome. As you know, the editor of Testopia is not very friendly; the test case import function might be a glad feature.=20 Any suggestion or kind information will be appreciated. Everything seems correct to me. I am not sure what would cause the error you are seeing unless your webserver is unable to access the *.pm files in the Bugzilla directory. Check that the permissions are set correctly. I am not sure how one does this in Windows. -- Greg Hendricks <ghe...@no...> On Mon, 2006-11-13 at 06:46 +0000, "Gu, Liu xue PSE NKG" wrote: > Dear all, > > Now I meet an error I have solve it yet described below.
