#4607 Enhancement: Other options for bar number placement

Currently, the placement of bar numbers is pretty much hard-coded. But there are different conventions on how to place them:

  • just like now, with pretty alignment to the end of the system start delimiter, but at the bottom of the staff
  • in front of the staff, center-aligned vertically, as in the Breitkopf & Härtel Brahms edition.

So it would be nice if there were other functions to select.

    One possible solution would be a markup command that returns the current bar number for use in instrumentName/vocalName.
