There is also a problem with the automatic language selection. I usually read
the manual in English, but this is not possible on the website if you do not
want to change your browser language one day at a time. Yes, it is possible to
change the language at the bottom of the page. But this affects only the open
page. When a language was chosen manually, the automatic language selection
should not change the language again when the user goes to another page of the
manual.

Francisco gave a better explanation here:
    http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-lilypond/2012-07/msg00003.html

"This is not a problem with automatic language selection, which
works as intended. The problem is that once in a translated page, we
should make links on it to point to translated pages as well.

For example, you are in notation/rhythms and auto language shows you
the English page. You switch to German and want to go to 'beams'. The
link to 'beams' in German page should point to notation/beams.de.html
so that you stay in German pages. Instead, it points to notation/beams
which shows the English page again."
