In addition to the date for time entry, allow for the entry of start time and end time and calculate billable hours based on values entered. For example, if 9:30am was entered as start time, and 11:15am, the billable hours field would be populated with 1.75. The user could adjust the non-billable hours field, and it would automatically recalculate the billable hours field - if the non-billable hours field was changed to 0.75, the billable hours field would be updated to 1.0. A validation should be performed to make sure that the total billable + non-billable hours equals the difference between the two time values.

Very good suggestion, indeed. We will keep this in mind in next release.

Do you think we should have both ways: as it is right now and the way you have suggested in the same screen or shall we have a parameter at a company level or user level as clock mode (as you suggested) and hours mode (as we have right now).

Please suggest. Once again thanks for your suggestion.

Based on how I would use it, I think a parameter at company level would make the most sense. I report to clients the time in/time out on the work orders that I complete that detail services performed. Current users of TEMS, may not need or want to track this level of detail.

I guess it would be important (at least for me) for the time in/time out to be included in any detail reports.

We will seriously consider for this feature in our next big release. Meanwhile, use the use Description to capture time details as you have described.

Description is something that your client will see. It will be printed in the invoice. The Comments field is your internal. TEMS does not print the comments anywhere at all.

I hope this will give you a interim solution.

    Thanks for your suggestion.
