To create a new dynamic website:
- Open sites.php, copy one of the entries and amend data as required by your host.
- Insert info into database (templates and variables), creating the structure the first time.
- Copy index.php and amend as appropriate.
- Add/edit any required files like templates, logos, styles etc.

The engine is tiny, even more so the stites.php configuration file and even more so the site itself (index.php).

User Reviews

  • I'm not a programmer and I have no way to test the stuff, as it requires LAMP or equivalent. The project needs tiding up, debugging, personalisation, documentation (all sorts, in line with code and separately), an installation procedure etc. However, it is relatively abstract to be adapted to many uses; it tends to get you exactly the website you want (if it worked, that is), the engine is very small and easy to maintain, despite being able to create very customised dynamic websites and can be easily extended to become a full CMS system; in fact, it was initially supposed to be a CMS, but I wanted to get this part working, first. I'll add more code later. The full CMS, although being much more versatile, will include very little extra code, being the engine already abstract enough. Compared to the competition, Templater Engine requires the user to know how to develop websites and it just makes them easy to maintain by making them dynamic and 'object oriented'. On the other hand, it makes it possible to obtain a website that is 100% custom, not just a downloaded theme with some twicking.
