#7 No effect of telnet echo option

I am using this nice library, but now need to be able to turn off telnetd's echo. I trawled through the code of IACHandler and found that the echo option negotiation is there, but the value of the DO_ECHO variable is not really used for anything, it seems..
Is it possible to have this option actually have an effect, or alternatively, can you direct me towards what i need to change to make it work?
