#2 CVS version 1.12 no longer works

SyncFB stops working for me from CVS version 1.12
(devfs changes if I understand correctly).
The module loads and initializes correctly, but
user programs can't open the device, and I could
verify that syncfb_open() is never called.

I'm not using devfs, did the CVS Changelog imply
that devfs is now mandatory ?
