No

Per a recent discussion on the TEI Listserv (http://listserv.brown.edu/archives/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind1401&L=TEI-L&F=&S=&X=150AC25AEDD4356587&P=39647), I'd like to request that listRelation be allowed within biblStruct, as it currently is for bibl. It's unclear why this is not currently allowed.

Thanks in advance,

RM

Assigning to Syd Bauman to triage and report to council, etc.

Council decided to reject the feature request as per Oxford meeting 2014-07-01. Reasons are:

    • there are already (at least) two ways of linking <biblStruct>s: <relatedItem> and <link>
    • <bibl> can nest (therefore acts as a list), hence is not in parallel with <biblStruct>

BUT, Council decided to add <listRelation> into <listBibl> for consistency with other list*

Closing this ticket “won’t fix” per tcm60 (minutes from 2014-06-30/07-02 Council meeting), and have add "( listRelation | relation )*" to end of content model for <listBibl>. I think we should now consult the community about possibly deprecating <relaatedItem>.

Why does this FR lead you to think we should deprecate <relatedItem>? I find it quite useful, and I don't really see what it has to do with the availability or otherwise of <listRelation> or <relation> in <biblStruct>.
