No

P4 has been deprecated for a very long time and shouldn't be in search results. Use either a <meta/> tag http://www.robotstxt.org/meta.html or a robots.txt file http://tools.seobook.com/robots-txt/

P4 has not been deprecated yet. It has active support until 2012-11-01 at which point it will be deprecated. However, I agree that we should encourage/forewarn deprecation of it by making it less prominent on the website as of 2011-11-01.

P4 hasn't been "deprecated" as such, but you're probably right that we should be doing more to make it less visible, as follow up to James's announcement of its demise in a years time.

Just noting that this ticket is a good place to store notes on what has been done for the 'removal of support' (not really deprecation) of P4 and its de-emphasis on the website. I have contacted KevinH and DavidS to start discussion of necessary changes to the website.

(I'll close ticket when we've finally removed support for P4 and it is in the Vault, etc.)

I've added a robots.txt file to stop indexing of the Vault. We want the material to be available but we really don't want to be judged by the material in the Vault, so this seems safest. I'll discuss with Kevin and David if this is the right way to go or not since it is really a website decision.

    Closing this ticket for now.
