#631 Example of TEI attributes ostensibly in TEI namespace is erroneous

The second example here:

and the commentary on it is rather nonsensical. There is no @rend attribute in the TEI namespace because TEI attributes are defined without a prefix, and therefore in the empty-string namespace. This means that it is impossible to distinguish between the "real" TEI @rend attribute and the one which appears on elements which are in the TEI Examples namespace; in fact they are the same thing.

Since there is probably nobody in the world (including the TEI) who is attempting to distinguish TEI @rend[namespace-uri(.)=""] attributes from putative but actually non-existent @rend[namespace-uri(.) = 'http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0'] attributes on elements in the TEI Examples namespace, I suggest we simply delete this example, along with the preceding and following lines of commentary.

My main comment is I agree with Martin's suggestion: delete the example along with the associated commentary. The sooner the better.

(I think the assertion that it is impossible to distinguish is incorrect: teix:*/@rend vs tei:*/@rend distinguishes them. But I still agree with what to do about it.)

The second example and discussion were removed some time ago and don't appear in the current release, but this ticket was not closed for some reason. Closing it now.
