I have been able to compile the matlab teem library on mac and Linux without too much trouble. IIRC it also worked out of the box for Octave. Perhaps a little more documentation & a mention on the web page would be enough. That means that nrrd (not mat) is you interchange fornat, but that works best for me. I suppose there could still be some utility in pure matlab functions to read the simplest data. Best, Greg.
