My compilation/remix album often get split across multiple directories - the help file doesn't make it clear how to tag these files so this doesn't happen.

Please clarify which tag to use. I am using Band, but it doesn't work all the time.

  What are you using to edit the tags? With Windows Media Player, the tag is called "Album Artist". With Tag & Rename 3.1.7 the tag is called "Orchestra or band". Other tag editors will call it something else.
