Application runs under Java 1.6, but breaks under Java 1.7.

This issue is now resolved in code base, branches/tcv_0_1_2. I committed the code changes on Thursday, 2 May 2013 as part of code revision [r74]. I well test these changes again, and will include them in the next release of tcv.
