Using YouTubeDownload.exe I am seeing RAM drop by the same volume as is the filesize being downloaded. I have selected \SD Card\My Documents\video as the save location, and all FLV files are correctly downloading to that location. Still, Storage Memory is vanishing fast, causing problems for other running apps (such as nPOPuk, TotalCommanderCE...). If I clear the Pocket IE cache I get the RAM back. In one example, I downloaded a 39MB FLV. RAM dropped by 42MB. I tried closing nPOPuk to save RAM, but got a file save error. Very rare.

It seems this 'plugin' is double-downloading the FLV files, writing to RAM as well as to SD memory. I normally have no memory issues on this Toshiba e830, where I keep at least 90MB RAM free. Looking into my cache folders in another test, I find a 940KB file called get_video[1] - renaming it to get_video.flv I am able to launch it in TCPMP 0.81 RC1, and it is identical to the file I just downloaded to the SD card.

By the way, I cannot find how to use this as a true plugin, only as a standalone downloader. Perhaps some documentation?

Actually, this is a known issue.

In YouTubeDownload, it just writes the video data to the "Save To" location, but it seems the network service API of PPC tries to cache everything. Therefore, it uses double size to download a video.

I won't use the lower level API (winsock) to solve the problem, since this kind of modification will cause more bugs and increase the complexity of the program. One of the solutions is that you can try to set a little value to the cache size in the internet explorer (may be necessary to modify registry).

    Thank you for your report
