#1089 including a PNG with index colour creates invalid PDF

I have a PNG file which is index colour. If you include this in a PDF with TCPDF it creates a PDF for which Acrobat says "an error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display this page correctly..." and the image is blank; the Chrome viewer shows it speckled and repeated with black at the bottom.

Changing the image to RGB then works.
