Should we continue to use the tclexpat fork for xml::expat and dom::c, or would it be a good idea to switch to the official expat release hosted at SourceForge? Unfortunately the two versions are not _entirely_ compatible, but the required changes (to dom::c anyway) look fairly minor. --Joe English jen...@fl... |

Hi Guys, Just to let you all know, the recent checkin to TclDOM included changes to the configuration and package index. Basically I've brought things into line with TclXML (which seems to work OK). Importantly, I've changed the all-Tcl package to be 'dom::tcl' and the pkgIndex.tcl file now treats the 'dom' package as a generic identifier and will try to load 'dom::c' first and 'dom::tcl' if that fails. Hi Guys, One of my objectives for this month is to (finally) get TclXML v2.0 released before Christmas - a present for everyone! To achieve this I'm limiting this release to the tclparser and TclExpat - TclXerces will be removed from the main CVS branch for the moment and moved into its own side branch. We need to do the following things (feel free to suggest more items, but we must limit the number of items to meet the deadline): 1. Ensure Tcl and expat APIs are synchronised; both should support all features, especially XML Namespaces 2. Debug C code - all tests must pass, for all combinations (Tcl only, tclparser but not expat, tclparser plus expat) 3. Release engineering - ensure installation scripts work well, generate source code tarball and binary distributions (Windoze, Linux and Macintosh at the very least) 4. Documentation (one of my strong points %-*) I'll put my name down for 1, 4 and building the Macintosh binary. I have sync'd my TclDOM development tree with the CVS repos. New version of dom.tcl has various new features and bug fixes. See change log for details. I've sync'd my development tree with the CVS repository. All of the code for tclXerces and tclExpat is now up-to-date. Peter: you can go ahead and use that code for the Windoze build. Hi, I have created a primitive web site to help organize info around the TclXML projects. At the moment is pretty basic, more jumpstart than anything else. I await your suggestions for stuff you would like to see on it. The site itself is generated from some simple Tcl + XML scripts. Best regards Daniel -- da...@ra... To err is human.
