FWIW the CANTCL code is now very close to being able to do this on 
demand for any set of packages stored in it. Hopefully before the 
conference I'll be able to have a version running with this capability. 
 So, the only effort needed is to ensure that there's a DESCRIPTION.txt 
file for each package and that they're laid out in about the right way 
(the normal installed package layout is now fine although TIP55 layout 
provides more features).
