Those are still allowed to use 'name' attributes. I'= m interested in changing the code which deals with the actual form element, which I think I found in the function ::tclwebtest::extract_forms_if_necessary : *set* a_form(name) [get_attribute $form_tag name] *set* a_form(id) [get_attribute $form_tag id] Thanks again for the pointer. I'll start working on the code and submit a patch soon. Vinod -- Vinod Kurup, MD vi...@ku... http://kurup.org |

Sounds reasonable, I would add the value of the id attribute to ~n. Just don't know what to do when both id and name are set to different values, hm. Anyway if you want to do that, look into lib/tclwebtest.tcl in the proc ::tclwebtest::deal_with_field , appx. line 3079 All these calls would need to be changed to conditionally also get the attribute id somehow: to: set a_result(name) [get_attribute $full name] add: set a_result(name) [get_attribute $full id] Looking at the code I'm really wondering why this call is repeated for each field type, it could be propably done only once. greetings -- http://tsinger.com +49-176 20 19 51 69 |

Hi tclwebtesters, I'm not sure if this list is still active, but I'll give it a shot. In XHTML, using a 'name' attribute in 'form' elements has been deprecated. http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/#h-4.10 So, I've been switching my forms to use the 'id' attribute. But now "tclwebtest::form find ~n" doesn't find things in the id attribute. Makes sense, of course, but I'm wondering if we could somehow add the ability to search the id attribute. Either with a new flag (~i?) or by having ~n searc= h both for name and id. Does this sound reasonable? Could someone point me to where I should start looking to make this change? Thanks in advance, Vinod -- Vinod Kurup, MD vi...@ku... http://kurup.org |

Tcl/Tk - radically simple - radically flexible - radically powerful Announcing the 13th Annual Tcl/Tk Conference October 9-13, 2006 Naperville, Illinois USA Learn from the experts, share your experience - the annual Tcl/Tk conference is your opportunity to engage with the Tcl/Tk core team and your fellow peers. The conference program will include: * Presentations and tutorials * The (Active)State of Tcl talk by Tcl/Tk release manager Jeff Hobbs * Birds of a Feather (BOF) sessions * Invited key-note talks * Discussion forums with the Tcl/Tk core team Call For Papers You are invited and indeed encouraged to submit proposals for presentations and tutorials. The conference schedule will consist of two days of tutorials (Monday - Tuesday) and 3 days for the main conference (Wednesday - Friday). The conference provides you an opportunity to report on original research and applications of Tcl/Tk and related technology. The audience will consist of practitioners and researchers who are intermediate or experienced users of Tcl/Tk. For this reason, reports on experiences and applications should draw out lessons for other Tcl/Tk developers. Topics will include, but are not limited to: * Application of Tcl/Tk in industries as diverse as engineering, industrial controls, broadcasting, financial services, medical and electronic design * Networking with Tcl/Tk, including distributed applications and network management * New widgets and techniques for GUI design with Tk * Simulation and application steering with Tcl/Tk * Tcl/Tk on handheld and embedded devices * New Tcl extensions and add-ons, including Tcllib and Tklib * Tcl/Tk centric operating environments Submission Guidelines If you are interested in submitting a paper you should send an abstract of about 100 words and a summary of maximum two pages. Omit extraneous or redundant information. Length is not a direct factor in judging the quality of the submission. If submitting a tutorial proposal you should send an outline of the tutorial and a brief biography, and clearly indicate whether the tutorial is of half-day or full-day duration. Send submissions as plain text to <tc...@tc...> no later than May 31, 2006. The primary author for each accepted paper will receive registration to the Technical Sessions portion of the conference at a reduced rate. The program committee will review and evaluate papers according to the following criteria: * Quantity and quality of novel content * Relevance and interest to the Tcl/Tk community * Suitability of content for presentation at the conference Proposals may report on commercial or non-commercial systems, but those with only blatant marketing content will not be accepted. Application and experience papers need to strike a balance between background on the application domain and the relevance of Tcl/Tk to the application. Application and experience papers should clearly explain how the application or experience illustrates a novel use of Tcl/Tk, and what lessons the Tcl/Tk community can derive from the application or experience to apply to their own development efforts. Papers accompanied by non-disclosure agreement forms will be returned to the author(s) unread. All submissions are held in the highest confidentiality prior to publication in the Proceedings, both as a matter of policy and in accord with the U. S. Copyright Act of 1976. Registration Information More information on the conference will be available in Spring 2006 at the conference web site (http://www.tcl.tk/community/tcl2006/) and published on various Tcl/Tk related information channels. This situation is found with the following real world test: tclwebtest::do_request "http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://alleg.sourceforge.net/logos_03.es.html" This prints an HTTP status of 200, but locks up in line 2405 of tclwebtest.tcl, about 17 lines after the puts that prints the HTTP status. |

Hi. Long time no see, and I'm glad you made a 1.0 release. Anyway, I got the latest CVS and tried the following test case, which failed: set url "http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://alleg.sourceforge.net/index.es.html" puts $url do_request $url puts [response text] assert text "valid html" The do_request command seems to modify the URL (one slash before "alleg" removed), as the following output shows: ----- START: test at [06/feb/2005:18:47:52] ----- http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://alleg.sourceforge.net/index.es.html --- do_request for http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http:/alleg.sourceforge.net/index.es.html Well, maybe my TCL is too rusty and double slashes get parsed somehow? Lets try something different then: do_request "http://alleg.sourceforge.net/index.es.html" link follow ~u validator puts [response text] assert text "valid html" However, the output is not much different this time: ----- START: test at [06/feb/2005:18:49:55] ----- --- do_request for http://alleg.sourceforge.net/index.es.html http status: >>200<< --- do_request for http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http:/alleg.sourceforge.net/index.es.html http status: >>200<< So, a slash is being lost somewhere. And I don't remember how I used to debug these scripts, hehe. Any ideas where to look? |

Hi again seems like I found the problem. Tomcat needs \r\n in the request instead of simple \n. I dont know what the RFC says about this and it's well possible AOLServer doesnt mind, but I would suggest changing the code like this (I dont have access to the cvs, so maybe Peter or Tilman should do that): (proc do_request about line 2355 in tclwebtest.tcl) # Decide if we add parameters for a POST operation if { [string equal $enctype "multipart/form-data"] } { set query_content {} set boundary "-----NEXT_PART_[clock seconds].[pid]" foreach { elmname filename } $files { set fd [open $filename r] fconfigure $fd -translation binary if { [catch { read $fd [file size $filename] } data] } { return -code error $data } close $fd append query_content "--$boundary\r\nContent-Disposition: form-data;\ name=\"$elmname\"; filename=\"[file tail $filename]\"\r\n\r\n$data\r\n" } foreach { elmname data } $query_key_values { append query_content "--$boundary\r\nContent-Disposition: form-data;\ name=\"$elmname\"\r\n\r\n$data\r\n" } append query_content "--${boundary}--" Bye, Kolja Am Tue, 04 Jan 2005 11:26:07 +0100 schrieb Kolja Lehmann <ma...@ko...>: > Hi > I am using the 1.0 version of tclwebtest and try to upload files. Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

In case you didn't notice, tclwebtest 1.0 is released. No big deal for those who used the cvs version as most new features have been in cvs for a long time anyway, but good for marketing hopefully ;) til |

Hi, I did some reorganization of the way tclwebtest deals with namespaces, hopefully it is more well behaved now. Thanks Joel for pointing me to this page: http://www.wjduquette.com/tcl/namespaces.html which I tried to make it compliant to. All procs are now in the ::tclwebtest namespace. The library files can be made available with "package require tclwebtest" which means they can be installed like any other tcl library, and for running the tclwebtest standalone script it is no longer necessary to cd to the tclwebtest directory, so it can be in your normal PATH and be called from anywhere. This is all committed to CVS now and internally tagged as version 0.9 - hopefully indicating that it's not far to 1.0 for which I'd like to make a release soon. I did not try yet running this from inside the OpenACS acs-automated-testing package - that will be the next step. If anyone wants to test that or other private test scripts with the standalone version and tell me what needs to be done to make it ready for 1.0 I'd be pleased. til -- listen to http://www.reboot.fm/ - bundeskulturhauptstadtelektroradio |
