Brent, That's not correct. 8.0 accepted a pure 'end', but not the 'end[+-integer]' form, but there are none of the latter in nub.tcl. There was one IIRC, but that was fixed. The TclPro 1.5.0.1 that we ship should work fine with 8.0.
