Hello,

I am having exactly the same problems as Wojciech. My system is 
win2k-SP2, with IE5.5 and Mozilla 1.2.1. During installation it failed 
to find Mozilla and IE reported errors when I tried to run the demos. I 
also had ActiveTcl8.4 installed, so I uninstalled both ActiveTcl and TDK 
and re-installed TDK under C:/Program Files/TclDev.

Now when I try to run the plugin demos in IE, it pops up an error 
message window: NpCreateMainInterp -- Failed to load Tcl/Tk dlls. I also 
tried with Mozilla after copying nptcl30.dll to its plugins directory 
but I get the same error message.

I also tried installing TDK under C:/Tcl but it gives the same error. 
Any idea what could be wrong?

Ok, I finally got the 3.0 to work! I read a bit on the tclplugin's CVS 
version and found that it is a problem caused by not finding the dlls.

The problem is that NpLoadLibrary() should look up both 
KHEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER... It only checks registry in 
LOCAL_MACHINE context.

Anyway, you should copy some parts of
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ActiveState\ActiveTcl
to
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ActiveState\ActiveTcl

Especially CurrentVersion value and the 8.4.1.1 key.

That helped me. I guess installing for everybody and not only current 
user would help - but I never install testing software for everybody.

I hope NpLoadLibrary() will get some fix to look in HKEY_CURRENT_USER as 
well ;-)

Thanks a lot, that did the trick. I re-installed for all users and now 
it is working for IE5.5 as well Mozilla1.2.1 (after copying the 
nptcl30.dll to its plugin dir because the installer doesn't find Mozilla).

Later on I plan to port a script that uses Tktable.

Thanks for hunting that down.  I always install as admin, so I didn't
see that problem.  Could you please register that as a bug and assign
it to me?
