Achim, The plugin was written before Mozilla existed, so the default installer doesn't work for Mozilla. However, I just did a quick test, and dropping the nptcl32.dll file that normally gets placed in the Netscape/Communicator/Program/Plugins directory into Mozilla/Plugins instead worked just fine. I assume that the correct translation for the Linux path variants would work as well. Hi List! The support for the Tcl/Tk-Plugin for Mozilla seems to be broken. I can't= get=20 it to work with Mozilla 0.9.5 on my Linux-System. It works fine with the old Netscape 4.x but not with my Mozilla. Has anyone else this problem? Is there a fix for it? TIA Achim |

IE decided that, 'for security reasons', to quit supporting the netscape plugin interface as of IE 5.5 SP2. Any IE browser at that or newer version no longer is able to use any of the hundreds of existing plugins. To date, information about what proprietary methods are required to write something that IE will use have been difficult to locate. Also, regardless of the number of people appearing to want to use the plugin, few have time to actually work on fixing bugs and enhancing it, making it necessary that someone specifically using IE and needing the plugin to step forward and contribute some hours to do the work. -- Never apply a Star Trek solution to a Babylon 5 problem. Why hasn't there been a new version of the plugin in 3+ years?It actually has
nothing to do with the date of the plugin, it has to do with the fact that
Microsoft killed all support for Netscape-style plugins in IE5.5sp2+.

John, Can you do a more simple 'ldd tclshp2.0' or whatever the real main .so is to find out what library needs that call? The plugin was originally built with 8.0, so that might be the problem, but I don't get that impression immediately given your error message. Jaime, Monopolisoft did a nice thing and broke all netscape-style plugins starting with IE 5.5sp2. This included such popular plugins as Quicktime. The plugin architecture needs to be changed to support the IE-only plugin API. I know the basics involved, but have not had the time to do the work on it. Hello, I downloaded the WEB Explorer version 6.0.26 and try to use the TCL PLugin (last Version) and doesn't work. Hello, I want running a tclet. So I installed the plugin (Netscape 4.77, linux SuSE 7.2). Help->About Plug-ins looks good, and if a connect to the internet, the tclets on your sites run well :-). If I embed the tclet by <embed src=file:... > and I call the html file by file:/... it works :-). But if I use my apache (http://lacalhost/...) and I've connected I get I window to search the plugin (if not connectet, the window is empty and I get a message cgi.netscape.com is unknown). If I set type=application/x-tcl in the embed tag I see the logo with "Tclet loading please waite". In access log is the line 127.0.0.1 - - [31/Dec/2001:14:52:29 +0100] "GET /science/physik/scripts/temp.tcl HTTP/1.0" 200 0 and in error_log is no error found. Can you help me? -- |

There appears to be a couple problems. The first is that for some reason you are continuing to attempt to use the scriptics.com URL. Scriptics has been gone a year, and for a while was being redirected.
