IE decided that, 'for security reasons', to quit supporting the netscape plugin interface as of IE 5.5 SP2. Any IE browser at that or newer version no longer is able to use any of the hundreds of existing plugins. To date, information about what proprietary methods are required to write something that IE will use have been difficult to locate. Also, regardless of the number of people appearing to want to use the plugin, few have time to actually work on fixing bugs and enhancing it, making it necessary that someone specifically using IE and needing the plugin to step forward and contribute some hours to do the work. -- Never apply a Star Trek solution to a Babylon 5 problem.
