Hi all
     Here is a patch against the bibtex module.  It fixes a minor issue 
where the token "string" could be found and treated as a string macro 
definition in the middle of a field.  It also adds a new 
"casesensitivestrings" feature to make bibtex string macros case 
sensitive (which is how bibtex works).
